At Butterfly Pavilion, we’re more than just butterflies and Rosie the Tarantula, we’re also a premier destination for aquatic invertebrates! In 1997, just two years after opening our doors, we introduced our Water’s Edge exhibit, creating a home for fascinating creatures like crabs, sea urchins, octopuses, coral, shrimp, jellies, and more. This exhibit highlights the vital role invertebrates play in sustaining our ocean and freshwater ecosystems. Through our interactive touch tank, guests of all ages and backgrounds have been able to experience the wonder of gently touching a sea star or petting a horseshoe crab, creating memories that last a lifetime and inspire future generations of ocean stewards.
