The spring football game was on Friday, May 9, after school. It was a chance for the football team to show off their skills to friends, family, and fans. It starts with the first team offense playing the first team defense, and people rotate in throughout the game. “It’s really just a game to compete for fun and also for the community to see the football team,” said sophomore Luke Mathabela. Some dads of the football players grilled and gave out hot dogs to the crowd, while cheerleaders handed out water. “It turned out really good and there were a lot of people there that got to see us play,” Mathabela said. Last year, the team traded playing the spring game for an extra week of practice in the fall. “On both sides of the ball we have a good, talented team,” Mathabela said, “But we need to both lock in and fix the little mistakes.” Caption by Josie Linton.
