Most of us who live around here know the spot.
Just past the café, where the sidewalk curves a little there’s a fence you can peek through if you slow down. And most of us do.
Mission Bay Puppy Rescue has been part of this neighborhood for over 30 years. No loud signs. No big fuss. Just the sound of soft paws and second chances.
You’ll catch glimpses of puppies chasing each other in the morning light, or volunteers gently coaxing shy dogs into the grass. It’s a rhythm we’ve come to love constant, humble, hopeful.
It’s one of those places that quietly weaves itself into the story of a neighborhood. Not just a rescue, but a reminder of what it means to care for something beyond yourself.
In a city that’s always moving, it’s a place that helps us feel rooted. A little patch of purpose right in our own backyard.
