In the wake of Hurricane Katrina, she and her family made Charlotte their new home. Alongside her husband Ocie, they co-founded JazzArts Charlotte, sparking a revival with a full season of programming and a dynamic youth education program. As CEO, Lonnie’s vision has been to let music be the connector, fostering a thriving jazz community.
