50-year-old Eric Lincoln Prater sent a friend request to a child around Jan. 20. The girl's mother noticed the request, began communicating with Prater while posing as her daughter and contacted law enforcement after receiving alarming messages. On Jan. 21, law enforcement in Tuscaloosa County took over the chat and continued speaking with Prater. On April 8, Prater sent messages encouraging the person he thought was an underage girl to have sex with someone and then tell him about it. He's been charged with electronic solicitation of a minor and remains in the Tuscaloosa County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
