From spectator to competitor to board member: Dr. Chris Newton’s Kentucky journey has come full circle! As a Lexington native, Chris was inspired to “”become a cowboy”” after witnessing the magic of equestrian competition at the Kentucky Horse Park. That dream led him to become both an accomplished equine veterinarian at Rood & Riddle and a competitor himself—first in 1994 and returning to the Cosequin Lexington CCI4*-S this year. Behind the scenes, Chris has dedicated nearly four decades to this event and officially joined the Equestrian Events Inc. board in 2007. His unique perspective as a competitor, veterinarian, and organizer makes him one of #K3DE’s most passionate advocates.
