I could not believe how many people were already out on Broadway at 11am yesterday šŸ˜‚ One thing many people may not know about me, is that when I visited Nashville for the first time in 2009 I came down to Broadway and instantly felt connected to the heartbeat of the city. I went to a JoDee Messina concert with my bestie at the Wildhorse Saloon and I was just enamored by the music culture. I knew so quickly and surely that I had to live here (I wanted to work in the music industry, and I did a little bit for a while). Back then things were really different downtown. It was before the bachelorette and pedal tavern culture, and people didn’t go to Broadway to (only) drink - they went for the music. Country music singers and songwriters played in the bars until 3am hoping to get their start in the honky-tonks, and so many of them actually did.
