LIONS HIT THE POOL AT STATE: A quintet of swimmers from the jserra.swimmingdiving Boys and Girls teams took to the pool against the top swimmers in the state on Friday during the preliminaries of the CIF Swimming Championships at the Clovis Olympic Swim Complex on the campus of Clovis West High School in Clovis. Junior Nolan Baker qualified for Saturday’s consolation finals of the 50 Freestyle. Baker swam to an All-American consideration time performance of 20.78. He duplicated the distinction in the 100 Freestyle, touching the wall in a time of 45.52, and will be an alternate for Saturday’s consolation finals. Sophomore Claire Wilson, senior Danielle Shin, senior Caroline Powell, and junior Andrea Bintintan teamed together in two relay swims in the preliminaries. The foursome clocked a time of 1:50.39 in the 200 Medley Relay and 1:40.67 in the 200 Freestyle Relay, earning consideration honors in both.
