Yesterday, during our 55th Annual Gibbs-Green Commemoration hosted by JSU's Margaret Walker Center, we paid tribute to the memory of Phillip Lafayette Gibbs and James Earl Green. Various members of the Jackson State family and community at large honored the lives of Phillip and James as we reflected on the tragedy of May 15, 1970. Gloria Green McCray, sister of James Green, and Dale Gibbs, wife of Phillip Gibbs, were invited to share memories of their loved ones and the impact of their legacies.
