mariboustate is back. Six years after releasing the critically acclaimed Kingdoms in Colour, the English electronic duo have released their anticipated third album Hallucinating Love, expanding on the signature downtempo Maribou sound in their most personal record to date. Ahead of the release, KEXP’s tiahqho caught up with Maribou State’s Chris Davids and Liam Ivory. In one of their first interviews after the break, during which time the duo overcame personal struggles including Chris’s recovery from a rare brain condition, they discuss their favorite samples on Hallucinating Love, working with longtime collaborator Holly Walker, and why hope is at the heart of the release.
