Watch your step! Suns out, snakes are out! 🐍 Many snakes, like this Southern Pacific rattlesnake, depend on sun to warm them up, so you may see them catching rays on roads or trails. Always be alert when out in nature and give wildlife space. While venomous, southern Pacific rattlesnakes will generally try to avoid humans and large animals, but will defend themselves if they feel threatened. If you do get bitten, try your best to stay calm and seek medical attention. Never try to suck venom out of a bite nor apply a tourniquet.
