I celebrated my Alive Day a week (and change) ago. At this point, it feels more like my birthday than my birthday itself.
Eight years into this second chance at life itself and I’m proud to still be growing. I don’t so much grow from the accident itself anymore, but rather mentally, emotionally, and spiritually in ways that are only possible because of the crisis and ensuing introspection for which the accident offered me the opportunity.
The pics are of my journal entry this year on May 10, 2025. I typically begin my daily journal entry with a list of things I’m grateful for followed by a little check-in—sometimes general, sometimes specific.
I celebrated last week on May 10 by livin’—running, skiing, reflecting, creating, and doing what I can to keep being one day stronger, fuller, healthier, and more in line with my values than yesterday.
