Meet Ophelia Hill, a Greenville native who joined ECU Health Medical Center in 2009 as a food and nutrition team member. Today, she serves as the lead surgical tech coordinator at the East Carolina Heart Institute After exposure to a new department, Hill knew she wanted to do hands-on patient care and enrolled into a certification program which evolved into an associate's degree. She was able to participate in the HomeGrown program which is designed to support team members who are first-time degree seekers and allows flexibility in their schedule.
