The past 48 hours have been a whirlwind, shooting and editing nonstop to create a video that played last night at Dawg Nation Hockey Foundation’s fundraising event. This was one of the most meaningful videos I’ve ever had the honor of producing.
On April 6, 2018, the hockey world was shaken when the Humboldt Broncos bus crash tragically took 16 lives. Layne Matechuk is one of the 13 survivors, and his journey of recovery from a traumatic brain injury is inspiring.
Dawg Nation Hockey Foundation brought Layne to Colorado for an unforgettable experience. He met Sidney Crosby, Nathan MacKinnon, Coach Jared Bednar, Cale Makar, and legendary ref Wes McCauley. Then, he took center ice to drop the puck for the ceremonial faceoff between Crosby and MacKinnon.
