Have you ever heard of this Swedish hotel made of ice? ❄️
In the Swedish village of Jukkasjärvi, 200 kilometres north of the Arctic Circle, a hotel is built from snow and ice every year. 🧊 The building materials come from nearby Torne River: 2,500 ice blocks weighing 2 tonnes each.
Icehotel is a unique structure where graphic designers, architects, industrial engineers and artists from around the world create individually designed rooms, making each stay a one-of-a-kind experience.
💧 While this part of the hotel melts and runs back into the river every spring, there is another part that remains open year-round. Solar panels enable the ice in the permanent part of Icehotel to stay frozen.
What do you think – would you find this place magical or just too cold for comfort?
