Did you know that the Swedish equivalent of the Oscar statuette is a beetle – ’Guldbaggen’, the rose chafer? 🐞 We visited the workshop where Patrik Sandell makes the Swedish award. Such craftsmanship! A Guldbagge Award weighs approximately 1.2 kg and its body is in enamelled copper. As a final touch, the Guldbagge is spray-painted to give it its characteristic shimmer.
