Dr. Jon Nese oversees the Meteorology and Atmospheric Science undergraduate program in the Penn State College of Earth and Mineral Sciences and has had an impressive career journey: including stops at The Weather Channel, The Franklin Institute, and co-authoring a couple of books.
Earning all three of his meteorology degrees at Penn State and later returning to teach, he said, "For me, teaching is just plain fun. Every semester is a new journey with the students, filled with Eureka moments. Often you don't know until years later that you had an impact."
"Everybody thinks that if you get a meteorology degree, you go into television. I take great joy when students recognize you can do a lot with a meteorology degree.” ⛈
