Black moms are dying at an alarming rate across the USA from preventable, pregnancy-related complications. The numbers are appalling: black moms are 4x more likely to die from pregnancy-related causes than white women (regardless of health, socioeconomic levels, etc). Even my wife had to self-diagnose on delivery day to get the urgent treatment she needed and likely saved her own life because of it. Our country must do better.
