May 20th’s election determines two seats on the Meridian Library District board and two for the Ada County Free Library District. These positions will directly shape the future of our local libraries. 📚 In Meridian, two candidates — Phil Reynolds and Mike Hon — were part of the 2023 movement that aimed to dissolve the Meridian Library District through the Concerned Citizens of Meridian group. Personally, I’ll be voting for current board chair Jeff Kohler and newcomer Garrett Castle, who both advocate for inclusion and stand against book bans. For the Ada County Free Library District, my recommendations are Travis Worwood and Johnathan Baldauf — both are running on similar messages of access, representation, and community support.
