The Showcase Showdown was a spectacle of culture unlike anything we’ve ever seen. 🪶✨ Last night at ManitoAhbee’s “Where Champions Meet” Women’s Fancy Shawl vs. Men’s Fancy Bustle special, we witnessed a glimpse into what powwow could become: bigger, bolder, and built for this generation and the next. From the very first step, the atmosphere was bright, electric, and high-energy — with many dancers debuting brand-new regalia sewn during the winter months. 🪡 But the groundbreaking element began when the categories narrowed down to the Top 5 women and Top 5 men. ⭐️ The remaining dancers were paired into teams of two — one women’s fancy shawl dancer, one men’s fancy dancer — and invited, one by one, to showcase their skills on an octagon-style stage.
