Justice for Emily. 💔 Last week, a vigil was held in Mesa, Arizona, for Emily Pike—a 14-year-old girl from the San Carlos Apache Tribe who was tragically found on February 14 after being reported missing in January. The horrific details of Emily Pike’s case have left many across Turtle Island in mourning, as her story reflects the ongoing crisis of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit individuals—more than 1.5 million Native American and Alaska Native women have experienced violence in their lifetime. The Gila County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation with support from the Bureau of Indian Affairs, San Carlos Apache Tribal Police, and the FBI. At this time, no arrests have been made.
