FÊTE DE LA BAGUETTE: In seventh period on Tuesday Madam Favrin and her French 3 and French 5 students engaged in a “fete du baguette” or baguette party. The students either baked their own baguette, brought a purchased one or brought something to accompany the bread. For the students who baked their own baguette, there was a competition. Guest judges (other teachers) were brought in to taste the breads and rank them. Then the top three were announced as winners, and the students each earned a different prize. Sophomore Ivy Stone participated by bringing a baguette, cheese and cornichon. Stone believed the event was delicious and very well organized. “I think I found one of my new favorite food combos,” Stone said. “Baguette, raspberry jam and fluffy white butter.” She agrees with the judges that the winner of the competition, Emma Ligarde, was well deserved. “Emma’s baguette was definitely the best,” Stone said. “It was crunchy and soft at the same time.” Favrin is leaving Mc...
