FIRST TIME’S A CHARM: The McCallum musical theatre classes held their Beetlejuice Junior showcase last Thursday in the Fine Arts Building Theater. The show was one of the final shows of the year. There were two performances, one at 6 p.m. and another at 7:30 p.m., with different casts for each show. Freshman Phoebe Wagner starred in the 6 p.m. show as Barbara and performed in the 7:30 p.m. show in the ensemble. “I went into the 6 p.m. show not fully prepared, but we still made it work, and in the end it was a fun show,” Wagner said. “Because ‘Beetlejuice Junior’ was a class project, it was more rushed and scrambled together but still was a success.” The show was Wagner’s final performance of the year, with the theatre program. “Beetlejuice Junior” allowed her to reflect on her first year with the Fine Arts Academy and tie a perfect bow on the year. “This show made me feel grateful for the full-length shows Mac Theatre puts on,” she said. “I’m thankful to Ms. Nat for organizing th...
