Last Saturday was our annual Kid's Bike Bonanza! The impending weather made this year's event a fast and furious one, but even with thunderstorms rolling in we were able to give away 130 bikes in less than an hour. Every family who arrived left with a bike! In addition to being super fun, the Bike Bonanza demonstrates a core tenant of Old Spokes Home: mobility justice. Even from a very young age, access to a bike is accompanied by a sense of freedom and increased agency over one's own mobility.
