how we spent the perfect day in Asakusa, Tokyo, Japan. The center of Tokyo’s shintamachi (low city) where the older part of Tokyo’s past decades live on 🎌
The biggest thing here you have to see is the Sensoji Temple. An iconic spot, if you want the stunning photos come here early, even at 8:30 am the crowds were packed, rain or shine, it will be crowded. But if you’re not looking for a photoshoot, it’s not that bad… this place is stunning, zen & calm, a relic of how Tokyo used to be.
If it wasn’t pouring we’d done more of a food crawl, but make sure to check out the two really viral food places here. 📍Suzukien for their tiers of matcha ice cream & 📍Wagyu Ichinoya for their Wagyu sukiyaki 🤤🥢 (they have a second store on the same block btw)
Then take a ten minute walk to Kappabashi Kitchen Street, one of my favorite streets of just everything needed in the Kitchen. You can easily spend the whole day here I’m ngl…
