“Being a brain tumor family leaves you with a lot of uncertainty in life. There is so much out of your control,” says Leah’s mom, Rebecca. “The best advice I can share is to find the joy in each day and not let the diagnosis keep you from experiencing the richness of life.”
Leah’s brain tumor journey began just before her first birthday when an MRI revealed a glioneuronal tumor in her cerebellum and brainstem. After surgery at 11 months, she had to relearn to crawl and started chemotherapy, which she continues today.
Leah has been able to start reducing her dosage and is thriving! With support from family and therapists, she has learned to walk and “find the joy in each day.” Go, Leah!
