This image dates from approximately 1890, shortly after the Auditorium Building was completed but before the Fine Arts Building had been transformed from a Studebaker carriage assembly. The building on the right held the Art Institute in its early years, prior to moving to its current building in 1893. This photo is a fantastic view of a very different Michigan Avenue.
