Meet Kurt Freudenreich, a true Sonder Hero and one of our most devoted volunteers over the past decade. We first met Kurt in the aftermath of Hurricane Michael, when we needed professional help removing dangerous trees that were beyond the ability of our volunteer crews. Kurt stepped up with skill, heart, and humility—opening a chapter of service and dedication we’ll never forget. Soon after, Kurt told us his dream: to fund a clean water well for a community in need. A year later, he set off on the Continental Divide Trail to make it happen—raising funds step by step across 3,000 miles to fund a well in the community of Wanga in Burkina Faso in 2020.
