Meet Tayler Ervin đź‘‹Â Originally from Dublin, California, Tayler is graduating with a major in architecture and minors in interior architecture and environmental studies.

During her time at UO, she served as director of media coordination for the American Institute of Architecture Students, co-media director for ASHRAE, co-president of the Black Student Union, and president of the Sigma Delta Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Tayler also leads outreach at the Lyllye Reynolds-Parker Black Cultural Center and serves on the Architecture Student Advisory Board.

“Being involved gave me a strong sense of purpose and connection,” she said. “It helped me grow my voice, advocate for others, and prepare for both professional and community-focused work.”

After graduation, she plans to return to the Bay Area and work at an architecture firm as she begins the path to licensure. This is a deeply personal goal, especially given that, as she notes, “Black women currently make up only 0....
