Here's why legal doesn't necessarily mean safe. 🚨
In Georgia, state law mandates that children under the age of 8 and under 4'9" tall must ride in an appropriate car seat or booster seat. But in many states, laws only consider a child's age for these mandates. The age requirement in some states is as low as 5 years old.
As you can see in the graphic above, age is not a good indicator of the safest way for your child to ride in the car because kids grow at different rates.
Always use your child's height and weight to determine the safest way for them to ride in the car. And remember that each "graduation" to the next car seat stage comes with a downgrade in safety.
