What a view. Apollo 10 astronauts Tom Stafford and Eugene Cernan descended to within 9 miles (14.5 km) of the lunar surface #OTD in 1969—the then-closest approach to the Moon. Two months later, Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin would make the first crewed Moon landing. Image description: View of the limb of the Moon with the blackness of space in the upper portion of the image. An oblique view of Maskelyne crater features prominently on the left from the Lunar Module window. On the right, a portion of the lunar module is out of focus in the foreground. The blackness of space is visible in the background. Credit: NASA #TBT #Artemis #Apollo #NASAHistory #Apollo10 #ApolloHistory #Moon #Astronauts #ApolloAstronauts #MoonLanding
