At Saturday’s inauguration ceremony, I asked everyone to celebrate my steadfast partner through every triumph and challenge, my wife Erin. Erin was diagnosed with a brain tumor at the beginning of my presidency in July. Despite her adversity, her courage, resilience and unwavering support have been a daily source of strength for me. Even before her diagnosis, Erin had begun a journey that she shared in a speech for Women’s History Month. Erin sought to make more time for Christ, to be less like Martha and more like her sister Mary, as described in a story in Luke 10:38-42 about Jesus’s visit to the sisters’ home. Erin’s need to rest as she recovered has helped her to further prioritize and find peace in her quiet time with God. Erin’s story inspires people to grow closer to Christ. She inspires me to lead with purpose. Read more about Erin’s journey: bit.ly/43TC9K0
