The final piano recital of the school year, the ensemble recitals, took place this past Tuesday, and piano teacher Sarah Wiley, who has been at Mac for 13 years, thinks that they went very well, but that it’s also a very bittersweet moment for all the seniors. “It’s always a bittersweet thing,” she said. “The good thing is that we get to have one last hoorah with their senior recitals, which is always their bigger ending moment versus the ensemble recitals.” Wiley said. These recitals are a very fun way to end the year because all the students get to collaborate with other people and go out with a bang. Wiley has always wanted to be a piano teacher, she grew up with a lot of really good teachers that made her want to pursue the career. “I started teaching, and I really enjoyed that, so after I graduated from college I knew that I wanted to work with young people and I had a passion for music, so I combined the two,” Wiley said.
