TRAIN YOUR ADDUCTORS 🧰
-
Quick breakdown:
Functions of the adductors:
The adductor muscles are a group of muscles located on the inner thigh that are responsible for the following functions:
Adduction: Bringing the thighs together
Hip flexion: Bending the hip forward
Medial rotation of the hip: Turning the thigh inward
Stabilizing the hip joint: Preventing the hip from dislocating
Assisting in walking, running, and jumping: By providing the force needed to move the legs inward and stabilize the hip 🔑
The specific adductor muscles include: adductor magnus, adductor longus, adductor brevis, and gracilis
Strong adductors = better hip and knee stability, aid in hip strength and mobility, and play a big role in balance and posture. So don’t sleep on adductor training!
Hope this helps
As always,
Peace and Movement ✌🏽
