Alberta Health will no longer be issuing individual alerts for potential measles exposure locations in southern Alberta. The majority of infections have been in unvaccinated children located in southern Alberta and every day lately they've been issuing alerts.

Measles can linger in the air in a room for up to 2 hours if someone infected had been there, simply from breathing (or coughing, sneezing, etc).
Measles is also one of the most infectious diseases in the world and it has a reproduction number of 12 to 18, which means that on average someone who is infected will likely spread it to 12 - 18 other people, in an unvaccinated population.
