Hundreds of French farmers have rolled on Paris’ National Assembly in their tractors, blocking surrounding highways, in a major protest, calling directly on the French President with one sign saying ’Macron! No farmers - no food’. ⁣ ⁣ The demonstration attempted to pressure MP’s to pass a bill relaxing restrictions on pesticides without amendments, accusing left-wing parties of trying to change the bill in ways which would harm farmers. ⁣ ⁣ But, those opposing the bill say it will weaken environmental protections by reauthorizing harmful pesticides. ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ Neonicotinoids are banned in many European countries and are widely blamed for causing harm or death to bees and other pollinators.⁣ ⁣ #Paris #Farmers #Protest #Pesticide
