For this week's edition of #Brooding, kjezermo reflects on a recent weekend she spent volunteering at her son’s annual school fair: "I signed up to run the ice cream stand, which seemed like it might be fun, and it was. It’s cute how much people love ice cream. But I was reminded over the course of the day of an unfortunate tendency that parents of young children have, of turning an otherwise nice treat into an agonizing inner conflict that often devolves into tears. This happens because these parents give their children too many choices, and they do this because they have become deluded into thinking that giving children access to multiple options is the same thing as being a good parent."
