While sea turtles normally crawl up the beach at night, this mother sea turtle came on shore at 10 a.m. on Memorial Day! She did a false crawl and did not lay any eggs. A false crawl is when a mother turtle comes out on the beach and for unknown reasons decides to not nest. But no worries, this kind of crawl happens about 50% of the time. Chances are this turtle will revisit later this week or could have even laid her eggs last night. Remember, if you see a mother turtle on the beach please give her space and do not approach. #turtletuesday #seaisland
