In Reagan’s 1982 Memorial Day speech, he called us to remember — and act. This Memorial Day, we remember more than the names on headstones or the flags placed beside them — we reflect on the choice each of those individuals made to serve something bigger than themselves. As President Reagan said in 1982, there’s something so powerful about the willingness to give one’s life so that others might live. In honoring their sacrifice, we also take on a responsibility: to keep their memory alive not just in ceremony, but in how we show up for our country and each other. Our national anthem ends with a question: Does that flag still wave o’er the land of the free and the home of the brave? It’s a reminder — and a challenge — to keep working toward a country worthy of their sacrifice. #Politics #MemorialDay #Reagan #America #Honor #Veterans
