At the 2023 Pan-American Games in Santiago, Chile, I cleared a height of 2.21m (7’3 ft). The next height was 2.24 which is my personal best. I had three great attempts at it but fell short. Clearing this height would have potentially yielded a podium finish but I can walk away knowing I did my best.
I came in at starting height of 2.05m (6’8.75 ft) and missed on my first attempt. There was a field of 13 athletes and I was one of the three athletes who opened at that height. I was the first to start the power clap but was also the first to miss. After clearing on the second attempt, from that point on, I had no misses until I scratched out of the completion at my PB.
I would like to thank everyone who supported me and all of the fans in the stadium in Chile. It truly was an electric atmosphere.
