Mhlengi Zindela's story began in the village of Nkandla, South Africa, where he was born. He had no electricity or running water, but that didn’t stop him.
He lived with his great-grandmother and learned lessons in compassion, humility, and something that stuck with him forever: the value of education.
School was a long walk from his home and the education system was far from perfect, but in Mhlengi’s words, he always felt a “burning desire to conquer the world through knowledge.” Things started looking up when he and his family eventually got electricity and tap water, making it easier for him to focus on his studies.
