Have you seen this incredible painting by Fine Arts Building tenant Don Yang, adorning the hallway of the 6th floor? "Held Down" (72x96in, oil on canvas) depicts the scene of the terrifying moment faced by captain and crew of the U-505, a German Type IXC submarine in World War II as it was being depth-charged off coast of West Africa before it was captured by US Navy's a hunter-killer group commanded by Captain Daniel V. Gallery, a Chicago native, on June 4, 1944. Want to see more of Don's work? You can see his new exhibition of plein air paintings, "Nature and the City," on display from May 30 to June 28 at Artful Framer Studios. #fineartsbuilding #fineartsbuildingchicago #chicagoartist #chicagoartists #chicagoart #chicagoartist #chicagoartscene #chicagopainting #u505 #museumofscienceandindustry #museumofscienceandindustry #msichicago
