Today we honor Indian Arrival Day 🇹🇹🛶 On May 30th, 1845, the Fatel Razack brought the first group of Indian indentured laborers to Trinidad. They came across oceans under harsh conditions to work on plantations after slavery was abolished — but what began as a contract often became a life of struggle, resilience, and cultural survival. Shaping the landscape and culture of Trinidad and Tobago as we know it today with its strong Indian influence. While it’s officially called Indian Arrival Day, many now call it Indian Survival Day to recognize the strength it took not just to arrive, but to endure, preserve, and thrive — despite exploitation, racism, and systemic hardship.
