Children in Garden Club work hand-in-hand with Farm Manager Damon Bartos on the farmsite as he prepares for the farming season, and in January and February, the kids work side-by-side with him as they begin crop seeding.
As it turns out, bees pollinate more than flowers, and Bartos said the two hives housing upwards of 15,000 have been a huge help in pollinating most of the farm’s produce. Depending on the weather, the bees are out pollinating each morning around 8 or 9 a.m., helping the farm to feed the surrounding community.
