What the heck is a BOTHY? 👇🏼🤯 For those who aren’t from the UK, or aren’t familiar with the term Bothy - literally me until about 3 weeks ago… A bothy is like a backcountry hut 🛖 A refuge for hikers to shelter in overnight. It comes equipped with bunk beds to sleep on, tables to eat on, and lots of fun memorabilia from hikers who have stayed there over the years. And they keep you nice and toasty when it’s battering with rain and cold outside! 🌧️ They’re free to use! All that’s required is that you take an active help in their maintenance… I.E. Leave it clean and tidy! Respect the space that’s helping you out 😁 I’d stayed in huts before in Canada but this had that classic, old, Scottish cottage charm - say that 5 times fast 😅 After a mega day of hiking, this was a luxury to sleep in! Plus, with other travellers coming through the area, it’s a perfect opportunity to meet likeminded individuals, who hopefully come away as friends 🥰 #adventuretravel #backcountry #hi...
