50th Week 8. 40 years ago, in the spring of 1985, we were prepping our show for its New York premiere at the Westside Arts Theatre, where it ran for nearly 2 years before moving a few blocks east to Broadway. We were not convinced it would be a success, so in our contract, we demanded two things: That we would not load the truck when the show closed and that we be given round-trip tickets back to Los Angeles when the show closed. Well, thankfully, we were very wrong. The next couple of years would be a a rocket ship full of incredible highlights launched from our quirky little magic show.
