We often chase “freedom”—but what we’re really choosing is slavery.
You want the freedom to drink… but then you can’t stop drinking.
You want the freedom to look at porn… but then you can’t stop looking.
That’s not freedom. That’s bondage. That’s being stuck. That’s sin.
Sin always over-promises and under-delivers.
It feels like freedom on the front end, but it always costs more on the back end.
“Sin will take you further than you want to go,
keep you longer than you want to stay,
and cost you more than you want to pay.”
The enemy is subtle. He convinces you that you’re just having fun, just experimenting, just living your truth. But before long, what felt like a choice becomes a chain.
Jesus didn’t die so we could dabble in sin. He died to set us free from it.
If you’re stuck, you don’t have to stay stuck. Freedom is possible.
Not by trying harder, but by surrendering completely.
Share this if you’ve found freedom from a particular sin.
