Children's Neurosciences team recently used two innovations to customize an effective treatment for one of our younger, smaller patients. Neurosurgeons paired Laser Interstitial Thermal Therapy (#LITT), a minimally invasive approach to treat epilepsy and tumors, with STarFix, an individualized scaffolding instrument, to direct a laser probe and treat this child’s tumor through a dime-size hole with real-time intraoperative MRI.
