We’re continuing to share stories of hope and resilience from our patients in honor of National Cancer Survivors Day (June 1). This one highlights brain tumor survivor, Saudamini (Mini) Mohan. “I thought I had a dental issue...I never imagined it was a brain tumor.” After a surprise diagnosis of a rare brain tumor in her 30s, Mini leaned on her care team at MedStar Georgetown Cancer Institute to get her through an intense treatment journey—including radiation, chemotherapy, and expert care from neuro-oncology specialists. Today, Mini is focused on the future. She finished graduate school and is working full-time. “I felt so lucky to have this team. They moved very fast and provided me with total support, even handling the paperwork I needed as an international student to maintain my visa.
