From what I’ve read, wall lizards exhibit fast rates of adaptation. The population in Cincinnati already shows fairly significant genetic differences from the original population due to the genetic bottleneck and it’s the same in other introduced populations as well! Genetics are so cool, I love learning about evolution. While I don’t know that it is widely accepted, it has even been suggested that the Cincinnati lizards are their own subspecies. #lizards #reptiles #animals #wildlife #italy
